Board and train, also known as residential dog training services, are great for a dog who requires specialist training, a busy owner, or a dog presenting serious and disruptive behavioural issues. Being busy with life doesn't mean you can't train your dog - we're here to help.

Some of Our Board and Train Reviews

Kevin, Cocker Spaniel

Kevin, Cocker Spaniel
What can I say.... Gemma has quite literally, saved our dog Kevin's life.
We rescued Kevin (3yr old Spaniel mix) from behavioral euthanasia - He was just a few hours away from being put to sleep. That is when I found Gemma and then Kevin's life (and ours) changed forever.
He went to Gemma's board and train program for 3 weeks. He absolutely thrived under her fantastic training and structure. The work, effort and love Gemma put into Kevin is surreal. I really could not recommend Royal Canine Academy and Gemma any more - she is truly fantastic and does incredible work. Always very professional but so warm, kind and helpful. We knew Kevin was in the right place and we felt such relief we found the perfect person to help him.

Why chose a Board and Train?

Professional Expertise

Dogs receive training from Gemma, our head trainer who has extensive experience and knowledge in dog behavior and training techniques. This ensures that the training is effective and addresses specific behavioral issues.

Intensive Training

Dogs undergo intensive training sessions multiple times a day, leading to faster learning and behavior modification. This is especially useful for addressing severe behavioral problems.

Owner Education

Our board and train programs include sessions for owners to learn how to maintain and reinforce the training a dog received. This empowers owners with the skills and knowledge needed to continue a dog's progress at home.

Consistency and Structure

In our board and train setting, dogs benefit from a consistent and structured environment. This helps reinforce good behavior and reduces confusion that can arise from inconsistent training that may arise in other situations.

Socialisation

Dogs that board with us have the opportunity to interact with other dogs and other animals and people in a controlled environment, improving their social skills and reducing anxiety or aggression.

Our Facilities

Your dog will have access to our training field by day, and live at home with us by night. This means they gain the benefit of being trained in a family home while also having access to our fully equipped training field.
