I'm Gemma, the owner of the Royal Canine Academy. I've been working with dogs for over 15 years, caring for high-drive working dogs - Shepherds, Bullies, Terriers, Collies etc.
I'm also the owner and operator of Detect and Protect K9.

Myself and my personal dogs are an operational Private Security team that specialises in providing General Security and Detection services to business, organisations and individuals.
My unique set of qualifications and skills in raising, training and handling high-drive working dogs equips me to offer an unparalleled level of care to high-need pet dogs.
I launched the Royal Canine Academy in 2023 to assist owners with dogs that have anxiety and behavioural issues, and restricted breeds - the type of dogs that other trainers and boarding services refuse.

A Family-run Business
My family assist me in caring for the dogs that stay with us, and they get involved with training sometimes too. Each of my children have their own unique set of skills that make them fantastic dog carers, trainers and owners.

My oldest son is a patient leader, and many troubled dogs gravitate to him because of his calm presence.
My daughter is kind and compassionate, and she has a natural ability to soothe nervous dogs.
My youngest son has an innate ability to make even the most fearful dog feel safe enough to play.
